Database and development environment

The System "Target 2100" has been developed in the Borland Delphi 2.0 - 5.0 environment. The system is ready to utilize some of the SQL database servers MS SQL server 7 - 2000 or the Oracle 8. These database systems ensure maximal data integrity even after errors of hardware, of operating staff, when backing-up during the system operation, or while distributing data. Major part of system operations proceeds on the server.

Network

The system "Target 2100" in practice enables unlimited number of working users, and operates under whatever network supporting protocol TPC/IP. It is possible to use networks of the type WAN (Internet, VPN etc.) for remote connection, and even telephonic connection to the network using modem which is a component of Windows 98, NT, 2000, and XP. When connecting through WAN or slower communication links, usage of terminal server is recommended (tested for MS Windows 2000 server and MS Windows 2000 server with support of Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 - see http://www.citrix.com/products/metaframe/default.asp).

This connection has several advantages:

Requirements for technical equipment

Minimal requirements for technical equipment are determined by the Windows environment. Device for operating Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, i.e. minimally Pentium 133,16 - 32 MB RAM with sufficient disk capacity is necessary for this programme system.

The recommended configuration is however higher, such as:

Windows 95 are not fully supported for technological reasons - we cannot ensure Target 2100 utility in this operating system. All these configurations are recommended for a station connected to the SQL server.

In case a local SQL server would be installed directly to a station, we recommend enhancing RAM in configuration to 64 MB RAM in minimum.
